Automation and smart solutions in Vilnius | Proplius

Proplius designs, installs and configures automation and smart system solutions for homes, apartments, offices, commercial premises and technical sites in Vilnius and surrounding areas. We work with relays, sensors, measuring devices, control modules, PLC solutions, KNX integrations, the Home Assistant ecosystem and other technologies that allow different systems of a site to be connected into one clearly managed infrastructure.
The purpose of automation is not only convenient control from a phone. A properly designed system can manage lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, heat recovery units, heat pumps, curtains, electrical loads, technical sensors and security systems. These solutions help create a more comfortable, safer and more efficient living or working environment.
The key factor is not separate smart devices, but a properly planned system: electrical installation, network, control logic, sensors, relays, automation scenarios, backup power and the ability to expand the system in the future.

Engineering approach to automation

Automation should be designed as an engineering system, not as a collection of randomly connected devices. Reliable operation requires understanding how electrical loads, relays, contactors, sensors, controllers, network infrastructure, security systems and daily user habits work together.
Proplius experience in IT, networks, alarm systems and industrial automation makes it possible to build solutions that are not only convenient, but also technically sound. Automation must operate reliably, be clearly manageable, safe to use and adapted to the logic of the specific site.
This approach is especially important when lighting, heating, ventilation, alarm systems, cameras, gates, curtains, technical sensors and remote control need to be integrated into one system.

PLC, KNX and professional automation

More complex automation solutions can use PLC controllers, such as Siemens S7-1200. These solutions make it possible to create reliable control logic, use inputs and outputs, connect sensors, control relays, monitor system states and implement clear automation scenarios.
A PLC-based system is especially suitable when higher reliability, clear logic and the ability to control important engineering systems are required. This architecture can be used for heating, ventilation, lighting, load control, technical signal monitoring and other tasks.
Integrations with KNX systems are also possible. KNX is often used in smart homes and commercial sites to connect lighting, switches, sensors, heating, curtains and other devices into one control system. When properly designed, PLC and KNX solutions can work together and complement each other.

Home Assistant, Tuya, Shelly and Zigbee solutions

When a site requires flexible smart device control, the Home Assistant platform can be used. It allows devices from different manufacturers to be connected, automation scenarios to be created, system states to be monitored and systems to be controlled from a phone, tablet or computer according to specific needs.
Home Assistant can be integrated with Tuya, Shelly, Zigbee, Wi-Fi devices, relays, sensors, lighting controllers, thermostats and other solutions. This provides a high level of flexibility for private homes and smaller sites where different systems need to be managed conveniently without a complex industrial architecture.
It is important to understand that even a Home Assistant-based system must be planned responsibly. Network stability, power supply, signal quality, device compatibility and the functions that must operate reliably even without an internet connection should all be taken into account.

Integration with alarm systems

Automation can be combined with alarm systems such as Paradox EVO. This integration makes it possible to create scenarios that react to the state of the site: whether the alarm system is armed, whether people are present, whether night mode is active or whether an alarm event has occurred.
For example, when leaving the house and fully arming the alarm system, automation can switch off part of the electrical loads while keeping only essential systems active: the refrigerator, internet equipment, alarm system, cameras, heating boiler or other critical equipment. This helps reduce unnecessary energy consumption and improve safety.
Alarm system events can also be used for lighting, notifications, camera scenarios, gate control or other automation functions. The key is that such integrations must be designed responsibly and must not interfere with the main security function of the alarm system.

Heating, ventilation and climate control

Automation can help manage indoor climate more efficiently. By using temperature, humidity, CO₂ and other sensors, the system can monitor real indoor conditions and control ventilation, heat recovery units, air conditioners, heating circuits or heat pumps accordingly.
For example, if the CO₂ level in a room exceeds a defined threshold, the system can automatically activate the heat recovery unit or increase ventilation intensity. When air quality returns to normal, the system can reduce ventilation or return to normal operation. This logic helps maintain better air quality without constant manual adjustment.
Temperature control can also be automated. If the temperature in a room rises above the set value, the air conditioner can be activated, and when it drops, a heating circuit or another heating system can be switched on. These solutions help maintain comfort and use energy more efficiently.

Bathrooms, humidity and technical sensors

Automation solutions can be especially useful in bathrooms, where humidity, temperature and ventilation needs often change. By using humidity and temperature sensors, the system can automatically respond to changing conditions.
For example, after a shower, when humidity rises, the system can activate an exhaust fan, floor heating or another heating circuit so that the room dries faster and the risk of excess moisture is reduced. When humidity returns to normal, additional ventilation or heating can be switched off automatically.
These solutions help maintain comfort, protect finishes, reduce the risk of mold and ensure that technical systems operate according to real demand rather than only by timer.

Lighting, curtains and daily scenarios

Smart solutions make it possible to conveniently control lighting groups, curtains, blinds, gates, garage doors and other devices used every day. A single button can activate several lighting zones or start an evening, work, relaxation or leaving-home scenario.
Curtain or blind control can be linked to time, sunrise, sunset or an astronomical calendar. For example, the system can automatically open curtains in the morning and close them in the evening according to the real solar cycle. This increases comfort and allows the system to operate more naturally without constant manual control.
Lighting scenarios can be adapted to different situations: leaving home, returning, night mode, guests, work or relaxation. Properly planned control buttons and logic make the system easy to use, even when a complex automation architecture is operating behind it.

Why automation should be planned in advance

For automation to work reliably and conveniently, it should be planned before electrical, network and low-voltage infrastructure is installed. Individual smart devices can be added later, but the best result is achieved when cabling, control points, sensor locations, electrical loads, automation cabinet and network structure are planned in advance.
A pre-planned system makes it possible to connect lighting, heating, ventilation, alarm systems, cameras, gates, curtains, sensors and other solutions into one clear infrastructure. This reduces the risk of chaotic solutions, incompatible devices and inconvenient control.
Automation design should start with the question of how people will actually use the site every day. Only then is it possible to create scenarios that do not complicate life, but help manage the environment more conveniently, safely and efficiently.

Need automation or a smart system?
